Week 12 is in the books and there was no shortage of surprises, how did the weekly fantasy football rankings measure up? We’ll break it down for you here with Ranking the Rankers. Here we take the predictions of the four major fantasy football websites (CBSsports.com, ESPN.com, NFL.com and Yahoo! Sports) and compare their experts’ rankings to the actual results of Week 12. Since point totals vary site-to-site, ranking predictions are compared to each website’s specific actual rankings.
Andrew Luck didn’t quite dominate the Jaguars as expected, but still came away with a respectable showing in the Colts’ 23-3 victory over Jacksonville as he finished just outside the Top 10 in all leagues.
Despite the loss to the Cowboys, Eli Manning and catch-of-the-year candidate Odell Beckham Jr. both put up big games for Big Blue.
Justin Forsett continued with another head-turning week, coming out of the bye strong with 182 rushing yards and a pair of touchdown passes.
It was a tough week for defenses as well, both the Packers and Chiefs defense tanked, leaving several websites rankings in tatters.
Here is how the rankers ranked this week:
NFL.com picks up their second win in three weeks with a solid showing on many of the weekend’s unexpected performances, including Forsett, Ryan Tannehill, and Timothy Wright while also having one of the lowest ranks on Jay Cutler.
This is NFL.com’s first win at quarterback, dethroning Yahoo! Sports who had the title each of the previous two weeks. This is also NFL.com’s third straight week as the top ranker at running back.
