Ashley Dunkak currently serves as a correspondent for the Associated Press, assisting with coverage of the Kansas City Royals, Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State Wildcats. She also freelances for the Kansas City Star and for Chiefs Digest, which covers the Chiefs in partnership with the Topeka Capital-Journal.
From June 2013 through June 2015, Dunkak worked as the fulltime sports writer for CBS Detroit, covering the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Pistons and college sports. As part of that coverage, she spent time at Tigers’ spring training in Lakeland, Florida, and at the NFL Annual Meeting in Phoenix.
Prior to joining CBS Detroit, she covered Kansas State football and men’s basketball for three years as a correspondent for the Associated Press. She also worked at the Kansas State Collegian on the football and men’s basketball beats.
A native of Olathe, Kansas, Dunkak graduated from Kansas State in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
