Alamo Bowl
TCU vs. Oregon

Spread: Oregon -7
Total: 73.5

Spread: This game got turned upside down when it was reported that Trevone Boykin was suspended for punching a police officer. It was going to be one of the best matchups of bowl season, now it’s just a toss up about how quickly the Horned Frogs can work Bram Kohlhausen into their offense. Anytime a backup QB in college is a senior, it’s concerning because they were clearly beat out and couldn’t get back on the field. Because of this, the shootout we thought we might see may go away. TCU may struggle to score a bit more than they would have with Boykin and it takes a lot of the intrigue out of the game. Plus there’s no doubt there will be an emotional toll on the Horned Frogs losing their QB and leader a few days before the game. Pick: Oregon -7

Total: The spread on this game moved almost a full touchdown when Boykin was suspended while the total was not adjusted at all. Seems a bit peculiar considering one of the teams is absolutely less likely to score. Oregon is going to score, they always do. The same was originally though to be the case for TCU, but it’s just not any more. No way an over makes sense in this game. It’s as simple as that. Pick: Under 73.5
