West Virginia vs. Arizona State
Spread: West Virginia -1
Spread: Two teams who cannot be described as anything other than disappointments are probably looking more toward the season being over than playing the final game. It’s a semi-home game for ASU with the game being played in Phoenix which will certainly help the Sun Devils. West Virginia has not been great (recently) in bowl games under Holgerson losing each of their last two. It should be a pretty exciting game with both QB’s out to prove themselves after down seasons and the extra time off should give both a good grasp of the game plan. West Virginia will likely have trouble running the ball which will make them one dimensional and likely take away some of their big play ability. Pick: Arizona State +1
Total: It may take West Virginia a little longer to move the ball because of the Arizona State run defense. Nick Bercovicci is a solid QB who should be able to spread the ball out and take advantage of a Mountaineer defense that isn’t great. Game planning will be key is this game as Holgerson is highly regarded as a offensive mastermind while Todd Graham is a solid defensive game planner. Great defense beats great offense almost every time, and especially when it comes to totals. Take the under. Pick: Under 64
