USC vs. Wisconsin
Spread: USC -3.5
Spread: It’s a pair of programs heading in completely opposite directions. USC is coming off some rough NCAA sanctions and are just starting to look like the Trojans of old, while Wisconsin has kept the pace defensively but struggled on offense all year. Wisconsin still has strong lines on both sides of the ball, but they are nowhere near where they’ve been offensively. Cody Kessler will have to make quick decisions, but when he gets the ball out to JuJu Smith-Shuster and Adoree Jackson the Badgers won’t be able to keep up. It’s a classic battle of power vs talent, but the difference is the gap in talent is wider than the gap in strength. Pick: USC -3.5
Total: It’s no surprise that Wisconsin was a dead under team much of the year as they are the best scoring defense in the nation, but lately they’ve turned it around playing three overs in their last four. The key will be how often the Wisconsin offensive line wins at the line of scrimmage. They can’t afford to fall behind the chains too often so they’ll need their big boys to get some push consistently. It’s hard to imagine this Wisconsin team pushing much past 20 even if the run game does get going a bit. Pair that with Wisconsin’s 13.1 points per game average and it’s unlikely that the Trojans can get to 30. Should be a pretty easy under. Pick: Under 51
