Auburn vs. Memphis
Spread: Auburn -3
Spread: It’s a battle of one of the most disappointing teams against one of the most impressive. Memphis won its first eight games before dropping three of their last four while the other Tigers, Auburn, never strung more than tow wins together at any point all year. However, there’s a massive talent gap in this game that has to be heavily considered. Aside from QB, the Auburn Tigers are probably more physically gifted at every single position on the field. The game is in Alabama, but it’s unlikely that Auburn fans are chomping at the bit to get over there watch. It’s been profitable almost all year betting against Auburn (3-9 ATS), so let’s keep on that train. Pick: Memphis +3
Total: Memphis does it with offense. Paxton Lynch is a bona fide NFL prospect and should be able to get the passing attack going early for Memphis. Auburn is going to try and pound the football at Memphis and hope to get a lead and then sit on it. Memphis averages 43 points per game, but it’s hard to imagine they’ll be as proficient against Auburn as teams like SMU, Tulsa, and Kansas. Even if Memphis stays in this game, which they should for a majority if not all of it, they’ll do it by slowing down the Auburn run game and getting the ball back to Lynch. There’s a real chance that Auburn’s offense returns to what we’ve come accustomed to over the past few years, but we haven’t seen it all year, so were going to hope it doesn’t show back up. Pick: Under 64
