The older, testier LeBron James emerged again after Friday’s overtime loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. LeBron, who’s seemed a bit on edge all season, seems to realize that he’s on the back nine of his career and every chance for another championship will only get more difficult with each season. After falling to the Pelicans, LeBron, along with David Blatt called out the fellow Cavaliers for failing to provide adequate support for their star, specifically in the 4th quarter and overtime.

Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beat Journal had an interesting quote from LeBron after he went off in the 4th quarter and OT by taking 17 shots and scoring 23 points:

LeBron’s minutes (45), points (37), and FGAs (29) were all season-highs as he led a furious 4th quarter rally after the team had fallen behind by 11 points with 6 minutes remaining. JR Smith offered his opinion on his coach’s assertion that LeBron needs more help:

JR did have 15 after the first, but he also had just three points over the next 41 minutes of play. The good news for the Cavs is that help is indeed on the way as Kyrie Irving was just fully cleared for all activities and is on target to return Christmas Day vs. the Warriors.

On a complete tangent, Cavs’ center Timofey Mozgov had a great quote after hearing that James Jones’ contract prevents him from riding horses:

I’m guessing ‘prohibited from riding bears‘ wasn’t something that came to mind when drafting Mozgov’s contract.
