Leave it to Donald Trump to opine on the important things in life, most notably Ronda Rousey’s stunning defeat at the hands of Holly Holm this past weekend.
Holm, who was a 20-1 underdog against the defending women’s bantamweight champion, knocked out Rousey in the second round of UFC 193 with a powerful left leg kick to the head to pull the upset.
Rousey has been a media darling of late but has also made her fair share of enemies with her elevated profile and sometimes controversial statements. That’s why it was no surprise to see many take shots at the suddenly crestfallen superstar, including Trump, who tweeted his glee at Rousey’s defeat.
This isn’t the first time that Trump and Rousey have squared off outside of the octagon.
Back in August Trump claimed that Rousey “liked him,” to which Rousey replied “I wouldn’t vote for him, I just really wouldn’t trust the guy with running my country.”
On top of that, Rousey recently announced that she was endorsing Bernie Sanders for president in 2016, another move that probably irked Trump and prompted him to sound off.
All in all, this is just further proof that it doesn’t take much at all to illicit a reaction of hate from “The Donald.”
Bryan Altman is, for some reason, an unabashed fan of the Rangers, Jets and Mets. If he absolutely had to pick a basketball team it would be the Knicks, but he’d gladly trade them for just one championship for either of his other three teams.
