Whether you’re a baseball fan who will be watching the world series with bated breath or not, here’s something you might want to cheer for during the World Series: If any player from either team records a stolen base, Taco Bell will be giving away a free A.M. Crunchwrap to everyone in America.
That’s right, just one stolen base and you could be stuffing your face with a free A.M. Crunchwrap, which is amazing because the only thing better than breakfast, is free breakfast.
According to Taco Bell’s website, if a base is stolen in either tonight or tomorrow’s game (Games 1 and 2), you can redeem your Crunchwrap on Nov. 5. If a base is stolen in Games 3 through 7, you can grab your meal on Nov. 10.
I don’t want to get overly excited, but I think we could be in line for a free breakfast on both the 5th and the 10th of November.
This postseason the Mets have nine stolen bases already while the Royals have seven, which averages out to about 0.8 stolen bases per game, so almost one per.
Plus, the Royals ranked fifth in baseball this season with 104 stolen bases. The Mets ranked 29th, but hey, they’re stealing more now so let’s ignore that for the time being.
Point is, it’s a fait accompli, it’s a done deal, it’s going to happen America. So get yourselves psyched, because you’re more than likely in line for a free breakfast just over a week from now.
Bryan Altman is, for some reason, an unabashed fan of the Rangers, Jets and Mets. If he absolutely had to pick a basketball team it would be the Knicks, but he’d gladly trade them for just one championship for either of his other three teams.
