The Steve Sarkisian situation in USC is literally getting worse by the minute. On Sunday morning he missed practice but apparently attended some team meetings. One USC player, according to ESPN, then texted reporter Shelley Smith and told her that Sarkisian “showed up lit to meetings again today”. Athletic director, upon hearing about Sarkisian, then called the coach and told him to take an indefinite leave of absence.

Here is Haden:

“I was at a basketball event earlier today when I got a call to say Sarkisian was not at practice. I called Steve and he made it clear to me that he was not healthy, and I asked him to take an indefinite leave of absence. I think this is the right thing for our team. I’ve spoken to our team and our coaches — they obviously had a great deal of concern for the health of Coach Sarkisian…I don’t have a lot of answers right now for you guys, as I first heard about this an hour and a half ago.”

Then Scott Wolf, a staff writer for the LA Daily News who also runs the Twitter account @InsideUSC, started tweeting out exactly what the USC players and coaches were thinking and saying regarding the situation and the health of their coach.

It’s clear that this guy has a serious, serious problem. This has moved beyond being a joking matter and funny hashtags at Sarkisian’s expense. He needs help and he’s not going to find it on a sideline. USC is making the right move given the limited information they have at the time. But if the above tweets are true and he was actually drunk during a game, then USC needs to permanently move on from Sarkisian.

The following tweet once appeared to be a joke, but sadly, it’s becoming true:
