Basketball continues to see a revolution of big men with skills to play outside the paint. Every year we see another big man adding the three point shot to his game as the sport moves further and further to a pace and space style of play. That revolution hasn’t been limited to the pro game as many of the nation’s best young recruits have these same skill sets.
The next in that line? 15 year old Bol Bol, the son of former NBA center Manute Bol. At 15, Bol stands 6’10” but has the handles and shot of a guard. Don’t believe me? Watch through the full Youtube clip. He steps out behind the three point line with ease, glides to the hoop from the wing for a smooth finger roll and generally looks comfortable handling the basketball which often isn’t the case for kids his size.
Bol is still a few years away from making his college decision but looks like he could be in the same mold as the top 2016 recruit Thon Maker who at 7’1″ has showcased the same kind of game. For comparison, Maker is being recruited by Kansas, Kentucky, Arizona, Arizona State and Indiana and is considered the number one recruit in the nation.
