NFL Injury Report: Week 11

By Jeremiah Delgado

Week 11 has still yet to be concluded and there have already been plenty of injuries. Some injuries more serious than others, but a lot of them to big names in fantasy football.

A.J. Green, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

This is probably the biggest injury from this week for fantasy football owners. A lot of teams have Green as their WR1 and he has been great this season. It seems he was just beginning to take off after three straight weeks of at least 12 fantasy points.

He has torn his hamstring and is not expected to return this season because the team is not really in contention for the playoffs. A lot of teams just lost playoff hopes, but maybe Tyler Boyd is a good player to target as a replacement.

LeSean McCoy, RB, Buffalo Bills

McCoy just underwent thumb surgery after dislocating it in Sunday’s win against the Bengals. He is expected to play this week and will not be bothered by this injury. So owners should not panic.

Giovanni Bernard, RB, Cincinnati Bengals

The one-two punch of the Bengals is no more for the remainder of this season. Bernard has suffered a torn ACL and is done for the rest of the season. No injury is good news in reality, but in the world of fantasy this might be for Jeremy Hill owners.

Hill will now be the workhorse back and receive most of the carries with Bernard gone. Look for him to return some of that rookie year production where he had 1,124 yards rushing and 8 touchdowns. He is going to see the volume and only Rex Burkhead to compete with.

C.J. Prosise, RB, Seattle Seahawks

This injury hurts more in real-life than in fantasy as Prosise was proving to be a great change of pace back for the Seahawks. He was also going to be their back for those long third-down conversions because of his pass-catching ability.

Thomas Rawls owners should feel more confident about him moving forward. There is no Christine Michael and now there is no Prosise. Prosise is reported as having a Scapula injury and is expected to miss eight weeks.

Zach Miller, TE, Chicago Bears

The Bears just lost another pass-catcher and Jay Cutler is running out of targets to throw to with Alshon Jeffrey being suspended for four weeks. Now, Zach Miller has broken his right foot and is out for the rest of the season.

Miller always received plenty of targets and that is something fantasy owners look for. Do not pick up Logan Paulsen and instead look to grab one of those wide outs like Eddie Royal or Josh Bellamy. The targets have to go somewhere else.

Ryan Mathews, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Doug Pederson has already come out and said that this injury in day-to-day. Mathews has a sprained MCL and could miss time or he could be fine. It all depends on how he practices this week and a great add would be Wendell Smallwood.

Darren Sproles also left with an injury and could miss this week too. This backfield has been inconsistent for fantasy owners all season and if possible avoid it.
