The matchup college football fans will be looking forward to this Saturday is #1 Alabama taking on #9 Tennessee. The Volunteers are hoping to not lose two straight, while the Crimson Tide look to keep rolling along.
Alabama is a 13-point favorite over the Vols, but in the SEC point spreads go out the window. Tennessee has lost nine straight games to Alabama. This might be as good a shot as any for that streak to come to an end.
Alabama freshman QB Jalen Hurts is coming off a very efficient game against Arkansas. He went 13-17 with 256 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Hurts also rushed for two touchdowns and his mobility could be a problem for Tennessee.
Alabama’s ability to score off of turnovers has made their defense look better than it is. In the last two games against ranked opponents, they have allowed a combined 73 points. Alabama will look to impose their will against a quarterback in Josh Dobbs who has thrown eight interceptions this season.
For the Vols, they want to limit their turnovers and wear out the defense of Alabama. They will look to try and prevent the defense from getting any type of momentum. Tennessee will also look to take advantage of the home crowd as this game will take place in Knoxville.
This game will be a close one and a possible preview of the SEC Championship Game.
