One of the more entertaining stories to come out of last football season was that of a bar called “The Basement” in Orlando, Florida that came up with a unique way of keeping Central Florida football fans invested in what would turn out to be a winless season: free beer.
Since the Knights finished last year 0-12, technically they have yet to win a football game, which makes you wonder if “The Basement” would continue it’s promotion. Well, you’re in luck, apparently they will.
Yep, that’s right folks, the free beer continues to flow. This season, UCF fans are certainly hoping for a win, but they’ll at least have one Saturday during which they can get some free beverages. As Rovell, reports, the bar gave away 15,000 free beers on gamedays last season and at one point in October, they apparently ran out of beer.
The Knights open up the season against South Carolina State, an FCS team, at 7 p.m. ET. Fans of the Knights now have a conundrum on their hands. Would they rather get a win? Or continue to get free beer on gamedays?
