The choice of guests can be the key to a good podcast. My Professor Vegas Sports Betting show is no exception.
Last week we were joined by motor sports betting expert Micah Roberts, a former Las Vegas casino sports book director who was at the forefront of posting lines in Nevada for NASCAR, Indy Racing and Formula One. If you listened to episode 43, there’s a good chance you had a profitable Memorial Day weekend because Micah’s long-shot pick to win the Indy 500 was Alexander Rossi at 100-1.
USA Today called Rossi’s victory as strange as it was unpredictable. Sunday’s race baffled the media who repeated “Where did this guy come from” questions during the post-race press conference. Maybe some of those media members should subscribe (for FREE) to the Professor Vegas Sports Betting Podcast.
This week we are back with another terrific guest. Raphael Esparza, who has made the transition from Las Vegas Sports Book Director to noted sports handicapper for docsports.com, offers his betting analysis of the NBA Finals, the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and Major League Baseball. In addition, we hear Raphael’s opinions on a wide-ranging list of topics, from dealing with the Vegas casinos’ corporate mentality to what it was like to take bets from Billy Walters, the biggest sports bettor in Las Vegas. Walters recently made national headlines when he was arrested for his part in an insider-trading scheme that included professional golfer Phil Mickelson, who agreed to forfeit nearly $1 million that the Securities Exchange Commission said he earned unfairly.
Professor Vegas is a weekly sports betting audio magazine available on iTunes and Play.it.
